Fight Simulation
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu was designed to work against a striking opponent. Fight Simulation is where we make sure it still does.
What Is Fight Simulation?
Real self defense doesn't happen in a vacuum. In a genuine confrontation, an opponent isn't going to shoot for a takedown and wait. They're going to swing. That's the reality Gracie Jiu Jitsu was built to address, and it's why we run Fight Simulation every week at NVGJJ.
In this session, Master Cycle students practice their jiu-jitsu against a striking opponent. Learning to close distance, manage pressure, and apply technique under conditions that more closely reflect real-world encounters. Strikes are controlled contact at low power, with clear protocols in place to keep training safe and productive.
This is not MMA training. It's Jiu Jitsu, tested the way it was designed to be used.
What to expect:
- Controlled striking environment — low power contact with clear safety parameters
- Focus on closing distance and managing a striking opponent using Jiu Jitsu principles
- Real world pressure that reveals where your technique is solid and where it needs work
- The ego free, collaborative culture that defines all training at NVGJJ
Street ready isn't a belt level. It's a practice.
