28 Aug Ryron Gracie Seminar was amazing
This weekend’s Ryron Gracie seminar was dopeness. He covered an entire system of defence from the bottom of the sidemount, mount, and guard. Contrary to a point based approach, he also went over a mindblowingly intelligent fight strategy for self defence during a real fight such as positional control, defence, and escaping the bottom position. Ryron’s grandfather, the founder of our art, Grand Master Helio Gracie developed traditional Japanese Jiu Jitsu to the point that it shocked the world with it’s realistic applicability in combat in 1993 when it burst on the scene in the first few UFC’s with the emergence of Royce Gracie, Ryron’s uncle. Ryron keeps a firm position as the keeper of the flame of what makes Gracie Jiu Jitsu the most effective, efficient, and intelligent martial art ever devised.
What a special day to have our very first seminar at our school with this amazing teacher. Ryron, thank you so much for your guidance and insight, and sharing Jiu Jitsu with us. We will keep the path. The principles and philosophies were great. Looking forward to the next one!
Here are a few candid photos, some group shots, and some pics of Allen Roberts and Yoko, who were both promoted that day to Blue Belt. A cool and special honour to have their belts tied by Ryron. Congratulations to all that attended, to those that didn’t, we will share the lessons. Highly recommended to share the mats with Ryron Gracie, the teacher!
Gallery will grow over the next few days.
