Student Code of Conduct

  1. Respect: We require all students to treat each other with respect, both on and off the mat. This includes respecting each other’s physical and emotional boundaries, using appropriate language, and refraining from discriminatory or harassing behavior.
  2. Cleanliness: We expect all students to maintain personal hygiene and clean attire while training. Nails should be trimmed. Please do not train with a dirty uniform. We can provide a rental if you’re unable to do laundry in time. If your old one is getting dingy, it can be donated to the Salvation Army for fabric recycling. Additionally, we require students to help with the cleaning of mats when needed.
  3. Attire: Please make sure you are wearing proper Jiu-Jitsu Gear. T-shirt’s, non Jiu-Jitsu dry-fit shirts and/or shorts will not be permitted in No-Gi classes. Please avoid anything too aggressive, like skulls and wild animals fighting; calm is good.
  4. Safety: We prioritize safety above all else. We ask that all students follow the instructor’s directions and practice techniques in a safe and controlled manner. You should always consider you, your partner and surrounding classmates’ safety before executing any movement/technique. Students should also notify the instructor of any injuries or medical conditions that may affect their ability to train.
  5. Responsibility: We hold our students accountable for their actions both on and off the mat. This includes taking responsibility for any damage or injuries caused during training, and refraining from engaging in any illegal or unethical behavior. We ask that all students maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while representing the school and the Jiu Jitsu community.
  6. Inappropriate Language and Topics: We expect all students to refrain from using foul or derogatory language.
  7. Cooperation: We encourage all students to work together and help each other improve their skills. This means offering constructive feedback and support, and being willing to learn from others.
  8. Continuous Learning: We believe that Jiu Jitsu is a lifelong journey of learning and growth. We encourage all students to approach their training with an open mind and a willingness to learn from both their successes and failures.
  9. Communication: We encourage all students to communicate openly and respectfully with each other and the instructor. This includes addressing any concerns or questions they may have, and offering feedback or suggestions for improving the school and training experience.
  10. Sexual Harassment: We do not tolerate any form of sexual harassment, including but not limited to unwanted physical contact, sexual comments or gestures, or other unwelcome sexual advances. Any such behavior will result in immediate disciplinary action, up to and including expulsion from the school. Students who experience or witness any form of sexual harassment are encouraged to report it to the instructor or another staff member immediately. We will take all reports seriously and handle them with discretion and sensitivity.

By following these guidelines, we can create a safe and supportive training environment that fosters personal growth and development for all students.
